Position Overview: 


A ScrumMaster is a core role of the Scrum project management framework. A ScrumMaster facilitates Scrum ceremonies and other meetings, works to remove impediments using all available resources, maintains project artifacts, creates and maintains information radiators, helps the team learn an Agile mindset by coaching the Scrum principles and framework, and protects the Scrum teams from distractions to keep it focused on the tasks at hand. A ScrumMaster I is focused on helping the team become more effective by mastering the Scrum framework and continuously retrospecting to gain new understanding, skill, and knowledge.


Essential Functions:         



  • Provide servant leadership to development, functional, or business teams

  • Facilitate discussion and mediate conflicts to ensure full-team involvement

  • Radiate information about ongoing development through regular Sprint Reviews and other channels

  • Facilitate and participate in continuous learning and improvement

  • Assist teams in avoiding distractions and external commitments

  • Coach teams to deliver features and business value through making and keeping team commitments

  • Partner with senior ScrumMasters and department managers to address organizational and team impediments • Demonstrate and act in accordance with company values, policies, and procedures

  • Maintain availability for face-to-face interactions during Core Hours and as needed to support team


Additional Duties and Job Responsibilities:



  • Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies and other meetings as needed

  • Assist teams in identifying and resolving impediments blocking progress of project

  • Search for and facilitate methods of keeping work fresh and energy high for teams


Qualifications:

  • Interpersonal Skills - able to get along with others effectively, able to mentor and coach peers

  • Conflict Resolution - able to bring disagreements into the open and attempts to manage them collaboratively

  • Computer Skills - strong knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software; strong knowledge of electronic communication systems; able to navigate the internet proficiently and conduct internet-based research as needed


Education/Experience - High School diploma or equivalent



  • Demonstrated history of team leadership, team coaching

  • Understanding of Agile principles and Scrum framework

  • Must possess ScrumMaster certification or complete within 40 days of employment


Work Environment and Physical Demands


Ability to work in an office environment. Specific abilities required by this job include: Near vision; hearing; ability to transport oneself as needed throughout the day; ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal, for extended periods of time; manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination); repetitive arm/hand movements


cPanel is a 24/7 operation and nontraditional or extended hours (including weekends) may be required occasionally.
